Zurich City Police have arrested three people, aged 18 and 20, following a paint attack on the Turkish Consulate in Zurich.
The attack occurred on Thursday evening, 9 July 2026, in Zurich’s District 6 (Kreis 6), where vandals caused property damage to the Turkish Consulate building and to a police patrol car. Police confirmed the arrests were made in connection with the vandalism at the consulate.
“The three suspects, two Swiss men aged 18 and 20, and an 18-year-old woman from Bosnia and Herzegovina, were taken to a police station for further questioning,” said Zurich Police.
Police have not released further details on their identities or nationalities.
According to the police media release, the incident involved Sachbeschädigungen (property damage) at the Turkish Consulate and a police vehicle in the same district. The nature of the damage included paint-based vandalism has been described as “Farbanschlag” (paint attack).

Turkish Consulate Vandalised: Prior Incidents
The Turkish Consulate in Zurich has been targeted in previous years, including:

April 2019: A firebomb attack on the consulate, with three young Swiss men aged 17–19 arrested.

This latest paint attack adds to a series of vandalism incidents.
