Police Seek Witnesses After Man Found Seriously Injured In Zurich

Zurich police are appealing for witnesses after a 36-year-old Swiss man was found seriously injured in Kreis 6 early Sunday morning.

The man was discovered lying on the ground beneath a staircase near the junction of Kloster-Fahr-Weg and Drahtschmidlisteg, close to the Limmat and the Dynamo youth cultural centre. Emergency medical personnel from Schutz & Rettung Zürich took him to the hospital shortly after 2 AM on 16 August 2026.

Man Found Seriously Injured In Zurich: Circumstances Remain Unclear

Police have not yet established how the man sustained his injuries. Investigators say they currently cannot rule out the possibility that a criminal offence took place.

The criminal investigation division of Zurich City Police has taken over the case. Authorities have not released further details about the man’s condition or the nature of his injuries.

Appeal for Information

Police are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who was in the area between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. on Sunday, and noticed anything suspicious.

The relevant location is the junction of Kloster-Fahr-Weg and Drahtschmidlisteg, directly beside the Limmat and near Dynamo at Wasserwerkstrasse 21, 8006 Zurich.
