Bern’s municipal planning office has unveiled a comprehensive proposal to expand the pedestrian zone in the UNESCO-listed Old Town. The plan would close Kramgasse and Gerechtigkeitsgasse to all motor vehicle traffic by 2028, creating a continuous car-free corridor from the Zytglogge to the Bear Park.
